Publication Ethics
Indonesian Journal of Legal Reform (IJLR) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and academic integrity. All parties involved in the publication process, including editors, reviewers, authors, and publishers, are expected to uphold ethical responsibilities in accordance with internationally recognized publication ethics principles.
Ethical Responsibilities of Authors
Authors submitting manuscripts to IJLR must ensure that:
- The manuscript is original, has not been published previously, and is not under consideration for publication elsewhere.
- All sources, references, and quotations are properly cited.
- The submitted work does not contain plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, or unethical research practices.
- Authorship is limited to individuals who have made significant contributions to the research and writing process.
- Any conflict of interest related to the research or publication process is clearly disclosed.
- Authors are willing to provide corrections or retractions if significant errors are identified after publication.
Ethical Responsibilities of Editors
Editors of IJLR are responsible for:
- Evaluating manuscripts based on academic merit, originality, relevance, and contribution to the field of legal reform and legal studies.
- Maintaining confidentiality regarding submitted manuscripts and the review process.
- Ensuring a fair, objective, and unbiased peer-review process.
- Avoiding conflicts of interest in editorial decision-making.
- Taking appropriate action regarding ethical concerns, including plagiarism, duplicate publication, or research misconduct.
Ethical Responsibilities of Reviewers
Reviewers are expected to:
- Conduct reviews objectively, fairly, and professionally.
- Maintain the confidentiality of manuscripts under review.
- Provide constructive feedback to improve the quality of manuscripts.
- Identify relevant published works that have not been cited by the authors.
- Inform the editors of any potential conflicts of interest or ethical concerns.
Plagiarism Policy
All manuscripts submitted to IJLR will undergo plagiarism screening using reliable plagiarism detection software. Manuscripts found to contain plagiarism, self-plagiarism, or other forms of academic misconduct will be rejected immediately.
Publication Decisions
The editorial team is responsible for deciding which manuscripts are accepted for publication based on reviewer recommendations, editorial evaluation, academic quality, and compliance with the journal’s policies and ethical standards.
Corrections and Retractions
If errors, inaccuracies, or ethical violations are discovered after publication, the journal reserves the right to publish corrections, clarifications, retractions, or apologies when necessary.
