Publication Ethics

Laciva: Lampung Civil Law Journal is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and follows the principles established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). All parties involved in the publication process—including authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher—are expected to uphold integrity, transparency, and professionalism throughout the editorial and publishing process.

Authors' Responsibilities

  • Submit original manuscripts that have not been published or submitted elsewhere.
  • Ensure that all data, citations, and references are accurate and properly acknowledged.
  • Avoid plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, and duplicate publication.
  • Disclose any conflicts of interest that may influence the research or publication.
  • Cooperate with the editorial process by responding to reviewers' comments and making revisions as required.
  • Notify the editor promptly if a significant error is identified after publication.

Editors' Responsibilities

  • Evaluate manuscripts solely on their academic merit, originality, and relevance to the journal's scope.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding submitted manuscripts.
  • Ensure a fair, unbiased, and timely peer-review process.
  • Avoid conflicts of interest in editorial decisions.
  • Take appropriate action in cases of suspected ethical misconduct, plagiarism, or research malpractice.

Reviewers' Responsibilities

  • Conduct objective, constructive, and confidential reviews.
  • Evaluate manuscripts based on scholarly quality, originality, and relevance.
  • Identify relevant published works that have not been cited.
  • Inform the editor of any suspected plagiarism, ethical concerns, or conflicts of interest.
  • Complete reviews within the agreed review period.

Publisher's Responsibilities

  • Support editorial independence and ethical publishing practices.
  • Ensure that editorial decisions remain free from commercial influence.
  • Cooperate in investigating and resolving cases of publication misconduct when necessary.

Ethical Compliance

Any allegation of plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, duplicate publication, or other forms of publication misconduct will be investigated in accordance with COPE guidelines. If misconduct is confirmed, the journal may reject the manuscript, publish a correction or retraction, and take other appropriate editorial actions.
